About Us

The HYDRONEPAL is a news portal, principally reporting on Nepal’s water resource development, covering the major areas such as hydro power, drinking water & sanitation, hydro-tourism, water-induced disasters and water transportation. However, a special focus is given on hydro power development.

Experts from various development sectors such as Mass Media, Information Technology, Hydro Power Development, Water Resource Management and Water Induced Disasters are associated with the HYDRONEPAL.

We work to promote Nepal’s Development Vision creating an online discussion platform, both in Nepali and English, discouraging those who are consistently working against the major sectors of development.

We have seen the campaigns of some paid anti-national elements regarding the larger power projects like West Seti (750 MW), Arun-III (402 MW) and Upper Karnali (300 MW). They campaign to derail the Nepal’s development neglecting the benefits that Nepal gets in long run.

At present, West Seti is the largest high dam power project in our country, being promoted by foreign investment. Not only Nepal, investors from various countries and multinational organizations have been considering this project as a ‘test case’ for Nepal’s power development and electricity market in India. The Supreme Court of Nepal has ruled in favor of the concept of high dam projects like West Seti and allowed it to move ahead freely.

The government has also declared the coming decade as ‘decade of economic revolution’ taking power development as main goal. If we work together, we can definitely develop 10,000 MW power in 10 years, as set by the government in its plans and programs.

Since we are committed for reporting the realities, we are sometimes arrogant and vivacious as well, carrying reports on organizational circular to highly maintained confidentiality, when they become the issues of public interest!

Thank you,
TheHYDRONEPAL Team
