Tata Power, India’s integrated private power utility, and SN Power, Norway’s international renewable energy company, recently signed an exclusive partnership agreement to develop joint hydropower projects in India and Nepal.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is likely to withdraw its investment from West Seti Hydro (WSH) project to which the bank had earlier agreed for 15 percent investment share.

Nepal Telecom (NT) has backtracked from its earlier decision to invest Rs 6 billion in loan for the construction of Upper Tamakoshi hydro-electric project, Nagarik daily reported.

Nepal has started importing 35 megawatts of electricity from India through the Duhabi-Kataiya transmission line from Wednesday.
The floods in Koshi river last year line had disrupted the line. Before the line was destroyed, Nepal had been importing 60 MW from India.

Amidst media reports that the 12-14 hours of daily power outage that the country is currently facing might further increase, a top government official has said that it will instead be reduced by half from February 26. Similarly, the government official also assured that the pro-longed load-shedding hours will be done away with for good in the next 5 years time.
