Slow actions for commitment

Indeed, every action fails if there is lack of strong commitment to what we plan. When we aim high, we need to be strongly committed towards our actions, and the goals. For a country like ours, words are seen more vibrant than actions. Same is the case regarding generation of hydropower as targeted by the present government. The power crisis has crippled life of every Nepali citizen. Further, it has become almost as usual for tourists to witness over-dozed load shedding hours in Nepal. It is hard to tell how long electricity comes to our rooms rather than remembering number of power-cut hours in a week!

Just a relief of two hours !

The reduction of load-shedding from 108 hours to 96 hours a week does not bring any substantial change to the lives of Nepalis. After all, power outages have merely been brought down from 16 to 14 hours per day. The two extra hours of power mostly come on in the dead of night, when a majority of the country's inhabitants are already asleep. But still, the very fact that blackouts have decreased, however insignificantly, provides a psychological boost to the nation's citizens, giving a sense that the worst is over

Commitment for ‘10,000 MW hydropower in 10 years’
